Location, location and location. And then an old rustico. This is how the dream starts for most people. This was also the case with this house, which the owners fell in love with the very first time. The challenge in this case was that the old rustico was in such a poor condition that he had to be completely demolished. Another problem was the size. It was a very small house and the owners needed more space so you had to be creative during the process in order to get some more m2. On the initial plans, there was a large garage in connection with the house. That was changed and is now the very large kitchen in the house. A terrace on the first floor was closed of and is now the extra bedroom that the family needed. Furthermore, because the house was totally demolished, it was possible to create a large wine cellar under the house. Everything under ground does not need a permission from the local commune. However, the most important thing was that the house did not end up being a new house with no charm and character. Thus mainly old renovated building materials have been used. Tiles, old beams, old fireplaces etc. The reconstruction of the house took 10 months to complete and was done when the owners were living overseas. They only came once during the whole process.
This house can be viewed at any time as an example of the renovation work that we do!
